Earnhardt Family And The Dale Jr. Foundation Continue Legacy Of Giving

ANNAPOLIS, N.C. (Jan. 8, 2014) – Kelley Earnhardt Miller and members of the Earnhardt family are continuing Dale Earnhardt Sr.’s tradition of giving back to the local community. On Tuesday, Jan. 7, the Earnhardt family joined the Kannapolis Education Foundation for its annual fundraising breakfast.

This year the event featured a racing theme celebrating the legacy of Earnhardt Sr., whose donation in 1993 helped lay the groundwork for the creation of the Kannapolis Education Foundation (KEF).

Representing The Dale Jr. Foundation (TDJF) were Kelley Earnhardt Miller and several prominent members of the Earnhardt family. On behalf of TDJF, Earnhardt Miller presented a check for $5,000 to KEF for technological purposes.

Dedicated to preparing children for success by giving them the tools to excel, KEF has donated more than $600,000 to help students and teachers of Kannapolis City Schools since its creation in 1994. The organization has provided everything from computers and library books, to advanced science equipment and iPads to local classrooms.

The funds donated by TDJF will be put toward KEF’s Tech Campaign, which aims to provide iPads for every classroom in Kannapolis City Schools.
