MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Oct. 16, 2017) – The seventh annual Driven to Give Dinner and Auction hosted by The Dale Jr. Foundation raised more than $282,000 to help support the charities and causes embraced by the Dale Jr. Foundation. The Sept. 19 dinner/auction was held at the Fillmore in uptown Charlotte.

The event, which featured the comedic stylings of Craig Shoemaker courtesy of blueharbor bank, was presented by Nationwide, the longtime partner of both the Earnhardt family and the Dale Jr. Foundation. Maddie Delaney, one of the Patient Champions from the world-class Nationwide Children’s Hospital, was on hand as well, taking part in an interview with Foundation head Kelley Earnhardt Miller and her daughter Karsyn Elledge. Ten-year-old Maddie, from Galena, Ohio, who suffers from cerebral palsy, lit up the room with her passion, sense of humor and spirit.

Earnhardt Jr. and wife Amy took the stage for a Q&A session, prior to the raffle and auctions. It was their first Driven to Give event as husband and wife. Award-winning comedian Shoemaker kept the audience laughing during his set, entertaining the full venue.

The raffle prize distribution was handled by Earnhardt Miller and Elledge, and the public auction was conducted by professional auctioneer Murray McCandless. The silent auction also took place throughout the evening   Fun was had by all, but more importantly, much needed funds were raised for the countless organizations across the country served by The Dale Jr. Foundation.
