The third concert of the “Rockin’ the River” Concert Series was on October 15th and featured platinum recording artist, Gavin DeGraw. Although the weather wasn’t the warmest, the concert drew in a good number of traveling race fans! DeGraw performed a live acoustic set at Whiskey River. A line of people waited outside the venue early in the night and Gavin hit the stage around 8:30PM.
DeGraw is probably best known for his platinum 2003 album, Chariot, which includes popular songs such as, “I Don’t Want To Be,” which soared to No. 1 on the Top 40 radio chart and was also picked up as the theme song for show One Tree Hill. Other gold singles from this album were “Follow Through” and the title-track, “Chariot.” This particular album sold more than a million copies.
Gavin’s second album, self-titled, GAVIN DEGRAW, was released in May of 2008. The album debuted at No. 7 on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart, earning DeGraw his first Top 10 album. It spawned the hit singles “In Love With a Girl” and the gold-certified “We Belong Together.” His current album “Free” is in stores now.
Everyone was captivated by the very personal acoustic performance from DeGraw. He completely enamored the audience with his humor and warm personality. Favorite songs played were “Chariot” and “In Love With a Girl”. DeGraw’s talents shined through as he switched instruments between piano and two different guitars during the show!
The Rockin’ the River concert series encourages everyone to come out for a very special show on October 22nd featuring a live QVC taping with Dale Jr. followed by an acoustic performance by country recording artist, Blake Shelton.
