(TDJF) is fortunate to have many wonderful supporters and donors who help TDJF fulfill its mission of helping others. Sometimes fans of the TDJF are able to turn a personal tragedy into an opportunity to help others in honor of a family member. Troy Pait is one of those special people.
In memory of their beloved Jason, Troy Pait (brother) and Sarah and Bill Brown (parents) created the Jason Pait Memorial Fund. The young 38 year-old Jason died suddenly in 2007. To keep his spirit alive, his family honors him through this special Memorial Fund. Their mission is to donate to organizations that assist individuals who suffer from alcohol and drug addiction or those who lack sufficient needs such as: food, shelter, medical care and clothing.
When Troy heard helps underprivileged individuals and that Dale Jr. is personally matching each donation made through the ‘Hard Card Program’ in 2009, he contacted TDJF immediately! Beginning in June, 2009 Troy’s goal for his brother’s Memorial Fund was to raise money for The Dale Jr. Foundation amounting to the “Pit Box” Hard Card Membership status. To do this, Troy would need to raise a total of $1,088.00. Troy owns a company called Touch-Up Solutions which his brother Jason helped him start. As if Troy wasn’t taking enough charitable action already, he decided that since Dale Jr. was going to match this donation, so would Touch-Up Solutions!
“It is tough out on the economic scene,” said Troy. “When I saw the email about Dale Jr.
matching I said to myself : Get Involved. My Mom taught me when you give, it will always come back around. The people that have donated so far have been touched and feel the same away about a loved one that has passed. I do believe that people need to be reminded of sadness in order to feel that their life has meaning for them and their family members.”
In just a few weeks, Troy Pait, with the help of Touch-Up Solutions, Dale Jr. and friends, raised a grand total of $3,264.00! Troy and his daughter Carlee personally delivered the check to JR Motorsports, where they were able to see the Foundation display in the retail store that highlights all the organizations their donations will help.
