Last night was the fourth concert of The Dale Jr. Foundation’s “Rockin’ the River” Concert Series. It featured a live QVC broadcast “For Race Fans Only” show with Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and a performance by country artist, Blake Shelton. The joining of these two talents brought in an excited audience to Whisky River. The taping for QVC took place on stage at 8:00pm selling Dale Jr. merchandise which included autographed die cast cars and customized “slankets.” Kasey Kahne even made an appearance on the live QVC show to sell his die casts as well! Blake Shelton hit the stage around 9:30pm and gave the public a fantastic acoustic performance.
Shelton sang his first hit song, “Austin” and fan favorite, “Old Red.” The song “Austin” spent five weeks at Number One on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. This song was the first single from Blake’s gold-certified debut album. He captivated the ladies’ hearts with his rendition of Michael Bublé’s song, “Home”, which also spent time as number one on the Billboard charts. Shelton’s performance definitely “brought down the house” at Whisky River. Blake’s had 5 hit albums in the past eight years and his latest, “Startin’ Fires” features his fifth number one hit, “She Wouldn’t Be Gone.”
The “Rockin’ the River” Concert Series continues next Thursday, October 29th with a concert by country artist and song writer, Phil Vassar. Phil’s show is the last concert of the “Rockin’ the River” Concert Series, which benefits Make a Wish and Victory Junction Gang Camp.
