Rehab

The second concert of the “Rockin’ the River” Concert Series was another rockin’ success! Rehab and the opening band, Almost Kings, performed live at Whiskey River on October 8. Both bands had a huge fan following that awaited their first act which started around 9:30PM last night.

Almost Kings hails from Atlanta and has an interesting style that combines rap and rock. The Almost Kings members are lyricist/vocalist Boze, guitarist/vocalist Ryan Yunker, drummer Kevin Compton, and bassist/vocalist Danny Helms. Their album, “Filthy Nice”, came out in February of 2009 and their song “Bounce” was a huge hit with the audience. The band asked the audience to participate in the song not only by singing but by bouncing too! Almost Kings did an amazing job at hyping everyone up for the night!

Rehab is also originally from Georgia and took stage around 10:30PM. This band is comprised of several members: vocalist Danny Alexander, guitarist Mike Hartnett, bassist Hano Leathers, drummer Chris Hood, guitarist Foz, vocalist Demun Jones, DJ Chris Crisis and vocalist Steaknife. Rehab’s latest album, “Graffiti the World” was released in July 2008. Their music style is a unique mixture of southern rock, rap, reggae and alternative genres. Everyone was pumped and ready to hear the group’s most popular songs, “Bartender” and “1980”. Needless to say, Rehab was full of high energy and put on an amazing show. The Rockin’ the River concert series has been a great time so far and we are excited about our upcoming show on October 15th featuring the Platinum recording artist, Gavin DeGraw.
